The Bahrain Mental Math Olympiad 2025 (BMMO 2025) marked a major milestone in the growth of competitive mental arithmetic in the Gulf region. Held on 19 April 2025 at Adhari Park in Manama, Bahrain, the Olympiad brought together young mental athletes from across Bahrain and neighbouring GCC countries.

This event was hosted by Live Math Competitions and League (Live MCL) in collaboration with:

  • E.A.S.E — EduArty School of Excellence
  • PECA International

Together, the three organisations created a powerful regional platform focused on empowering students with strong cognitive, numerical, and analytical reasoning skills.


Purpose and Vision

The Bahrain Mental Math Olympiad 2025 was established to:

  • Encourage students to develop speed with accuracy in mental arithmetic
  • Foster a healthy and competitive learning culture among students aged 6 and above
  • Prepare Gulf-region talent for larger international competitions such as the Global Mental Math Olympiad (GMMO) and Online Mental Math World Cup (MMWC)
  • Integrate technology into skill-based learning through digital assessments

The event prioritised accessibility, inclusivity, and global benchmarking standards, ensuring students performed under the same evaluation structure used internationally within Live MCL competitions.


 

Format and Competition Structure

  • Eligibility: Open to students ages 6+, divided into structured categories (Challenger, Master, Grandmaster)
  • Mode: App-based live competition via smartphone/tablet using the official Live MCL platforms
  • Core Challenge: 100 mental-math MCQs within a fixed timeframe
  • Marking Scheme:
    • Correct Answer: +10
    • Incorrect Answer: –2
    • Skipped: 0
  • Languages Supported: English-based numeric testing for universal fairness

In the weeks leading up to the Olympiad, participants were supported with:

The award ceremony was honored by the presence of Mr. Yusuf Yaqoob Lori, Director of Information & Follow-Up at the Capital Governorate, Kingdom of Bahrain. Known for his contributions to public service, youth empowerment, and community development initiatives across Bahrain, Mr. Lori has played an active role in supporting programs that encourage innovation, learning, and leadership among young people.

His participation added great value to the ceremony, and his words of encouragement inspired students, educators, and parents alike. Live Math Competitions and League, along with its partners, extended sincere appreciation for his support and presence at the event.
